November, 2012.
On September 11, 2012, a group of terrorists staged an attack on the American embassy in Benghazi, Libya, killing Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
According to Larry Pratt, Executive Director of the extremist pro-gun group, Gun Owners of America, and who has ties to white supremacists, the blame for the attack doesn't rest on the terrorists, nor even the embassy security, but rather on "The Left" and their "profound dislike for self-defense." According to Pratt (click for an audio recording):
What we’re looking at is a profound dislike of self-defense. This is something that’s characteristic of the Left. They don’t believe in self-defense either personally or as a matter of national self-defense. They think that self-defense and the knowledge that a potential victim is capable of self-defense is provocative and actually will make things worse; that somehow the potential victim will make things worse by responding to protect themselves by using, indeed, lethal force. We see the same mentality in Benghazi where they had actually withdrawn many of the assets they had to protect that building there in Benghazi weeks before the attack. What they can’t get through their heads is that they had sent an engraved invitation to people who think of nothing but murdering people who are not like them. ‘Hey, come and get us. We have now made it so that your job is very likely to succeed.’Of course, Pratt offers no evidence of this paranoid assertion.
Just another wacko pro-gun conspiracy theory!
